ROYAL DANCE WORKS
Faculty in Focus - Rosemary Beyer
Just as any mom watching her daughter twirl around the living room, Rosemary's mother, Sally, thought dance lessons were what she needed. Rosemary took her first lesson in Illinois at four years old, and dance has been a part of her life ever since.
By seven years old Rosemary was taking a variety of classes including ballet, tap and jazz. She continued her classes throughout herchildhood and also performed in variety shows and community musicals as well as annual recitals.Laura H Grant was her first teacher and remained as her mentor especially when she began to teach her own classes through the summer program in the Downers Grove Park Program at the age of 15.
Rosemary's love of ballet blossomed at the age of 16 and continues to be a major focus in training young dancers. She became a member of the DuPage Regional Ballet Company while in college and danced several solos and important roles including Maria Taglioni in the classic ballet Pas de Quatre.
After owning and operating Rosemary Beyer School of Dance in Naperville, Ill. for eight years, she and her familydecided to move to Arizona where she's taught for Royal Dance Works since 1988. Rosemary is continuously thankful for all of the wonderful children she's taught through the years and is grateful for the guidance, support, and opportunities Carole Royal has generously provided her.
She and her husband and high school sweetheart, Brian, enjoy their southwest lifestyle including spending time camping, boating and relaxing in their beautiful backyard. Her older daughter, Brianne, grew up at RDW and was an important member of several performing groups finishing her competition career as part of the Senior Company. Brianne now works in the medical field.
Emily, her youngest, recently graduated from Mountain Ridge High School and has just returned from the exciting city of New York where she performed with Jaci Royal's "Beneath the Surface" which proved to be one her life's most amazing experiences. She is attending Glendale Community College and will be touring the USA with LA Dance Magic throughtout the year as an apprentice under some of the world's most talented teachers and choreographers.
