Royal Dance Works choreographer selected for prestigious Capezio A.C.E. Award, second year in a row!

Each year only three finalists are chosen by a special panel of Capezio and Dance Teacher Magazine representatives as among the best choreographers in the nation. These winning dance choreographers then bring their work to New York city and compete as part of the Dance Teacher Summit, sponsored by Capezio and DanceMedia, the publishers of numerous national dance magazines. The winner receives a $15,000 production budget towards their very own show in New York.

Dana Metz, 1st runner-up in the A.C.E. choreography competition, presented her show in New York City, July 28-31, 2011. The show titled "A Look Inside" featured professional dancers as well as Royal Dance Works dance teachers and members of our Senior Performance Company. Only three choreographers are selected from around the continent each year.

This prestigious honor was also awarded to Jaci Royal in 2009, who won 2nd runner-up behind Travis Wall (choreographer and dancer for "So You Think You Can Dance"). In 2010, Dana captured the 1st runner-up title.

Two of the country's leading choreographers make their home at the Royal Dance Works studio.
